09 Jul

9 July 2013, Crailsheim. Gerhard Schubert GmbH, in Crailsheim, Germany, manufacturer of highly flexible packaging and filling machines, in addition Thermoform and closing machines, has acquired all the shares of MSC Tuttlingen GmbH.

While concluding a contractual agreement on the purchase of a majority interest in the MSC Group by Avnet, Inc (located Phoenix, USA), the MSC Tuttlingen GmbH share holders agreed on Schubert increasing its formerly minority share in MSC Tuttlingen GmbH up to 100%.

Schubert's acquisition of MSC Tuttlingen shall take effect at the same time as Avnet, Inc.'s entry into the MSC Group, which is subject to approval by anti-trust authorities. This approval is expected at the end of the third quarter of 2013.

The former MSC Tuttlingen GmbH will become Schubert System Elektronik GmbH. Under its new name, the company will retain its position in the market as an innovative solution provider for industrial electronic systems.

The objective is continuing to develop the Prime Cube® (industry PCs) and BK Mikro® (tool monitoring) brands, which are already successfully established, and acquiring new customers in the "customer-specific development" sector.

New company premises will be constructed in the "Take off" industrial park in Neuhausen near Tuttlingen. By the end of 2015, the company will move into this building, which will be the basis of future expansion.

Schubert has been a shareholder and major customer of MSC Tuttlingen since its establishment in 2001. The entire acquisition was presented to employees in an information event on 8 July 2013, where it was received very positively.
